Both buyers and sellers look for a broker with integrity when buying or selling their yacht or launch. Unfortunately there are brokers and there are brokers - some you would want to deal with again and again and others you would wish you had never met.

It really pays to do you homework when selecting a broker. Ask around on any marina and you will quickly find out who the rogues are and who get the repeat business. At Nautilus Marine, we pride ourselves on honesty and integrity. Having a boat on our books called "INTEGRITY" simply is not enough. At Nautilus Marine, we choose to treat every client as we would ourselves want to be treated. Nothing else matters.

As an aside, we do have "INTEGRITY" for sale. A beautifully presented schooner by Krogen, "INTEGRITY" has all the look and feel of a traditional vessel with magnificent timberwork inside and out.

Winter - a Great Time to Cruise the Pacific

As keen sailer for the past plus years, I have to wonder why more Kiwis don't sail off to the islands for a few months during our winters when it really isn't a great time to sale down here. Cruising yachts are available to suit nearly all budgets.

We have H28s for around $30,000 that have been there and done that and luxury cruisers exceeding $500,000. A recent listing of a Salthouse 75 at $2,750,000 plus GST show the top end of the yacht market and represents a yacht that has been purpose designed to cruise with a crew of only two on board.

Another new listing is the Jeanneau CS 43 at $495,000. This outstanding vessel has nearly every avaiable option and presents like new. The convertable option allows you to alter the cabin layouts to suit your specific requirements. With only 500 hours on the engine and offered well below replacement, this yacht is worth a look whether you want to cruise the Hauraki Gulf, Bay of Islands or be more adventurous and explore the South Pacific.
